메마른 땅 이스라엘에게 생명의 단비가 되셨던 하나님! 땅이 당신의 은총을 받아 생명을 돋우어 열매를 맺게 하신 주님! 하나님의 은총은 인간의 척박한 대지를 밀어내시고 그곳에 은총의 자리를 마련하셨습니다. 대지를 질러 흘러가는 강물은 부인할 수 없는 하나님의 은총이었습니다. 그 은총은 수 만년을 흘러가면 수 많은 생명의 젖줄이 되어주었습니다. 그러나 사람들은 탐욕과 살육의 마음으로 생명의 젖줄을 자르고 막아버렸습니다. 하나님의 은총이 세상과 피조물에게로 흘러가지 못하도록 막아버렸습니다. 하나님 은총은 목말라하는 모든 피조물들의 것입니다. 하나님 깨닫게 하옵소서! 인간도 하나님의 은총에 참여하는 자임을, 하나님 보게 하옵소서! 하나님의 은총의 흔적 속에 얼마나 많은 생명의 풍성함이 나누어 지는 지를, 겸손히 걷게 하옵소서! 이 생명의 강길을 걸으면서 사람의 손이 아닌 하나님의 손이 얼마나 진실하고 아름다운 길을 창조하셨는지를 고백하게 하옵소서 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다.
God, you who gave the long awaited rain to the barren land of Israel, the land that receives your grace becomes fertile and able to raise life that bears fruit. In your grace, God, do away with humankind’s infertile ground and turn it into a place where your grace may dwell.
This grace of God cannot be denied as the rivers' waters cut across the land and, flowing throughout all time, became the lifeline of countless creatures.
However, by the human mind of greed and carnage the lifeline was cut and blocked impairing God’s grace from flowing towards the world and its creatures. God’s grace is meant to nurture all thirsty creatures. Oh Lord, please let us realize this! Open our eyes so that we can see that also humankind needs your heavenly grace. The abundance of life clearly shows traces of your grace. Lord, let us humbly walk the path of life. While walking this river’s path, we confess how much more than humans your hands, oh Lord, have created. We admire the truthful and beautiful pieces of your creation! In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
